Surfing since the early 1980's, photographing since the late 1980's. First board was a G&S twin-fin, first camera a Canon AE-1. Learned how to surf at New Smyrna Beach, Florida. Received a BFA from the San Francisco Art Institute, California. Editorial and other requests send e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org
"My pictures over recent years engage traditions of landscape, seascape, and architectural photography. Working with a large-format camera and historic process (wet-plate collodion), I have concentrated on locations that are close to or directly on the water. At this juncture between land and sea, I explore subject matter in a constant state of transition."
Some beautiful images. Wet-plate collodion is hardcore. More images here.
Similar to my 'Surfer Portraits' I did a few years ago. I worked with a 8x10 inch camera and printed on 'printing-out-paper' toned in gold chloride, a process from the 1880's.More images from my 8x10 surf portfolio here.
